Brahmagiri (181.29 sq. Kms), being part of the Western Ghats, it has evergreen and semi-evergreen forests, as well as the shola-grassland habitat. the sanctuary is surrounded by agricultural fields and coffee plantations. The eastern tip of the sanctuary almost touches the northwestern edge of the Rajiv Gandhi national Park, separated only by a narrow strip of Coffee plantations. The southern boundary adjoins Kerala State
